Directors Gary Amos & Steven Whitworth have over 30 years of experience in the Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilding Industry, working as bodybuilders until 1987 when they decided to take on the challenge of opening their own body shop after spotting room for improvement in the industry.

Initially, PPS started out as one unit and surrounding land at Darcy Lever in Bolton, employing around 10 people and building standard bodies for a handful of new customers. In 1992 we moved to a larger site at Cemetery Road in Radcliffe where employment figures rose to 50+. Once there we acquired more custom & concentrated on developing bespoke bodies with innovative new products; like the PPS ‘Sidewalk System‘.

In 2008, PPS opened our own in house Auto Electrical Division so we could cut down on the use of sub-contractors & offer van conversions plus electrical services all under one roof. Coincidentally, 2008 also saw the development of our own Parts department servicing our shop floor, existing customers & the general public.

After continued growth & with no signs of slowing down we moved to our current site in Bury in March 2012. Our site boasts a 65,000 sq. foot body shop with a massive 7 acres of land for storage of vehicles & we are extending the body shop at present to give us room for more workspace, which should be complete for 2015. The move not only grants us with more capacity but also a modern facility with plenty of space for storage, manufacturing & bigger offices. We are also run our own national Mobile Service Division which will service the whole of the UK and Ireland taking care of any warranty or after sales issues, repairs, modifications and independent vehicle checks – so you can always be re-assured of a quality service even once your vehicle is on the road!

We presently employ around 90 people, a figure that is constantly on the rise, as is our workload due to continuing development plans such as; the broadening of our customer base, growing product lines and evolving the geographical areas into which our products are sold.

We continue to pride ourselves on customer service, which has been an important factor since the beginning of PPS all those years ago. We acknowledge that bodywork built to a standard design does not suit the requirements of everyone therefore, each body that leaves our factory is designed and manufactured to meet specific needs of the customer.
